Updated Rosary App – v2.1 Released
I just released a new version of the Free Holy Rosary Android app that includes some new features. These features were added to the application based on user feedback (Thank you to all who took the time to contact me!)
New features include:
- Fast-forward / rewind when you long-click on the fast-forward / rewind buttons
- Single click on the ff/rw buttons will change which mystery is playing. This feature was added due to some users reporting the app stopping in the middle of the rosary.
- Progress bar has been replaced with a seek bar – another way to quickly move backward and forward through the rosary audio
- The current mystery text changes to blue as the audio is playing and/or you are fast-forwarding or rewinding
- Edited the audio files to correct some mistakes that were made in the original recordings
Here is what it looks like now:
Just Released – Divine Mercy Audio App for Android Divine Mercy v1.3 Released
this is excellent!. Suggestion: could the litanies be added?
thanks!!!!!
Hi j.p. Not until phone capacity gets bigger. Right now the practical max size for the vast majority of phones is 30 MB. I’m really pushing it as-is. I’m sure that as technology evolves and phone storage catches up I’ll be able to add more audio, but for now I’m kind of stuck…. Sorry 🙁
Any plans for a iPhone version of this app? I just switched from Android and really liked the app!
Hi Adam,
Unfortunately probably not… Apple has locked their development environment software so that it only works if you have a MAC. I actually chose the Android platform because it is opensource and the development tools are free. If they were to ever open it to PC developers, then I would love to port it to Mac.
Thanks for contacting me,
Joe

On the Spanish version, what is the song played at the beginning?
Also, do you think you’ll update the Spanish version with fast forward/rewind buttons and a seek bar like the English version?
Thank you
I honestly don’t know what the song is – sorry. I’ll see if I can find out.
I hope to add the ff/rw feature at some point but I am very limited on time right now. It is definitely on my todo list, though!
Thank you for contacting me, may God bless you!
I love your Rosary app. I never knew how to pray it until I downloaded this. I was wondering if you have the text available for download?
This rosary version is so wonderful that you should do a version for I phone because I love it! And many people like me said the same thing. Even if we need to paid for it. Please consider this. I use to have an android but now I have the I phone and I realy need your Rosary.
Thanks
Thank you for this app., it is wonderful. My mother does not use a smartphone and I’m wondering if you have a CD Audio version of the rosary?
Thanks again!
Hi Allen. I am glad that you enjoy the application.
I do not know of a CD version, but you could certainly make your own from the mp3 files that are available on the internet. Here is a site where they can be downloaded: http://catholicaudio.blogspot.com/2010/02/scriptural-rosary-steubenville-version.html
May God bless you
hello
good day can i ask how to make this kind of apps in android or what software to make for this,, that icould make in my own language,,
thnks for reply.,
Hi Edward,
Have a look at http://developer.android.com/index.html. All the tools and information that you need is there 🙂
This is my favorite Rosary App. I miss a few of the quotes Jesus made on the cross. I love how the Magnificat words are said during the Glorious Mysteries. I prefer that over some scriptural Rosaries that use the Song of Soloman.
Who are the people saying the Rosary?
Hi Scott,
The audio was made by students at the University of Steubenville.
God bless,
Joe
Dr. Mr Meinke
Hello, and blessings. I just want to thank you for the Scriptural Rosary that I can listen to on my way to work. It is a wonderful blessing for somebody coming home to their faith. I want to thank you for creating it. It has made praying the Rosary an absolute experience of bliss and joy!
I am in the process of learning Spanish. I was so excited when I saw your icon on the search in Play Store of the scriptural Rosary in Spanish. Unfortunately, it was not the scriptural Rosary. I am praying and hoping that at some time you will make this happen. It would really be phenomenal to say 2 scriptural Rosaries a day. 1 in English, 1 in Spanish, it wouldn’t get any better than that. Hahaha. Please contact me if you should ever do so, and may God continue to bless you. I will continue to keep you in my prayers when I say my scriptural Rosary everyday.
Matt K.
Hi Matthew,
Unfortunately, it is not easy to find audio in Spanish. Perhaps sometime down the road.
